One of the main objectives was to integrate in the same environment all the information about public services and facilities. At the same time, it was also necessary to improve the design, functionality and usability of the portal, as well as to make the project usable for different user profiles.

More than 8 years
It was decided to use DRUPAL as a content management system, since it is a free software, widely used by public entities because it reduces many costs. In addition, it is a system that helps in the management of websites like this one, in which many people work at the same time. Currently, we are migrating from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9 to have all the improvements and updates. To facilitate the work of all these people, mostly technicians of the City Council, a custom backoffice was enabled for each user profile.
At the front-end level, a usable design was designed with the citizen's use in mind. The web architecture provides an organized website with a clear traceability. It allows to organize the different areas into categories, which in turn allows each department of the City Council to take care of updating its area. As it is a modular project, the technicians of each department can create their own pages and edit the content of these easily.
We have developed a tailor-made Intranet for the management of the Educational Activities carried out by the City Council, used by several user profiles. On the one hand, the technicians of the City Council can add, review and delete the educational activities that are carried out. On the other hand, schools can view and register to the different activities proposed by the City Council. In addition, at the end of the activity, the center can evaluate it. The Intranet also allows the technicians of the City Council to accept or reject requests for registration to the courses, schedule the timetables, export the calendars, make statistics, among others.

INTEGRATION: THE KEY WORD
Creating the portal of the City Council of El Prat, a major project, has required a year of development work. It has made the complete integration of all departments, services and equipment of the consistory in the same site. Despite being a large website, it has a responsive and very visual design that makes it very easy to navigate from any device and facilitates interactivity. The proof of this is the 30,000 people who visit the portal every month. The site architecture is designed to maximize resources. Following this line, we also worked on the Newsletters.
In addition to developing the Intranet, we have also developed the general portal, the teatre artesà and the concert hall, for that reason, there are hundreds of technicians working on it every day.
An integrated model was created so that all departments of the municipality would use the same format when sending information to subscribers. All these factors contribute to improve connectivity between departments, which is very important when implementing productive processes. Of course, we did not forget about SEO in this project. As in all marketing strategies we devise, SEO had an important weight when creating and structuring the content on the website of the City Council of Prat de Llobregat. For something is one of our specialties.
LIVE PROJECT
Although most of the work has already been done, the Prat project is, as of today, a living project. We are still in direct contact with the City Council with the aim of making implementations and improvements if necessary.
